About Clare's Yoga

Having decided to dedicate herself to her Yoga practice, Clare completed the Yoga Challenge Teacher Training Programme with Tony Sanchez, in San Francisco, California in 2004. The yoga has its foundation in a system of 84 classic asanas and is a combination of postures and regulated breath designed to develop physical and mental well-being. Good health and regulated breath are believed to develop the clarity of mind to know and fulfil one's purpose in life.

Since then Clare's yoga has evolved and deepened as she practised extensively with many well-known Scaravelli inspired teachers. This is now evident in her own teaching. Clare's classes are an exploration in undoing tension. By finding new connections through the body, using structural support and always connecting the breath with the ground, Clare believes with this approach we are able to bring a lightness in to the body, a release through the spine and a calmness into the mind. Clare's classes aim to combine asana, pranayama and yoga nidra and are suitable for all; men, women and those with all levels of yoga, from complete beginners through to advanced. Post natal mamas are also welcome.

About Clare's Pregnancy Yoga

Clare began teaching Pregnancy Yoga at Yoga Haven since Spring 2007. This was after practising extensively during her own pregnancy and giving birth naturally to her own son in 2006. It was through this experience that she realised, she wanted to share her knowledge and discoveries of how wonderful a Yoga practice can be; both during preganancy and for giving birth.

Clare's Pregnancy Yoga classes are designed to Mother the Mother giving mamas-to-be much needed time out in today's busy world, helping them to connect with their unborn child and prepare physically, mentally and emotionally for birth and motherhood beyond.

About Yoga Mamas Teachers

Clare is the primary Yoga Mamas teacher, however everyone gains useful insight and learning from practicing with a variety of teachers, so from time to time classes are taught by others. Yoga Mamas has wonderful support from several local teachers - a few details are given below:

Tula Parker

Tula has been practicing yoga since 1997 and teaching since 2006. She originally trained with Bikram Choudhury and then later with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli to teach Pregnancy Yoga.

"I loved being pregnant, I love being around pregnant women and yoga is a big part of my life so teaching pregnancy yoga just makes sense. Classes are designed to empower women so that they can enjoy their pregnancy and prepare for childbirth and motherhood."

Kyla Williams

Kyla has been practicing for over 10 years and her Pregnancy Yoga is based on Kundalini Yoga. Her classes benefit from her diverse experience as a Birth Doula (birth support) and focus on maintaining awareness of breath and ability to return to ones centre (point of power).

"My intention is to ensure that when my mamas to be leave the class the take with them a sense of empowerment and tools they can utilise throughout the rest of their pregnancy and birth."
